Climbing and amazing 10 day climbing trip with new friends – This was a once in a life time experience. Miriam hosted the most amazing climbing trip where I met great people and improved my climbing. She took care… read more of everything, from transport to the climbing area, delicious home cooked meals- even taken to the crag!, amazing climbing guides, fun evening activities, learning loads about local culture, fires and music.
This was truly such a great experience, which I think would be well suited for climbers of all abilities- complete beginner to experience needing a challenge.
Thank you MIR mountain adventures!

Definitely worth it – This trip was simply amazing! The place is gorgeous and the people were so nice, welcoming and helpful. There is a variety of climbing spots, adapted to all sort of… read more levels. The gorge itself is gorgeous. I am looking forward to doing this again!

Climbing in Todra – I joined the ‘climbing & yoga’ group trip organised by Miriam. It was maybe the best travelling I have ever done! The trip was well-organised and we received useful information… read more upfront including language practice and a packing list. We stayed in a riad and were provided all meals, best of which was freshly cooked lunches delivered to the crag(!)
I loved how during the trip she always presented multiple options and adjusted the program to the needs of the group. Miriam is great at setting a fun yet supportive mood and making a group of strangers feel like a cohesive pack of old friends.
Todra is a fantastic area for rock climbing. The rock is continuously developed and has a range of difficulty from beginner to expert climbing, both single and multipitch.
I cannot wait to come back to Todra on the next MirMountainAdventures trip!

Great inaugural trip leaves me wanting to come back next year – I don’t usually book organized group trips, but since none of my friends could get time off, I didn’t have enough time off myself to go completely solo and find… read more climbing partners at a destination, and I was _really_ craving an outdoor rock climbing trip, I joined Mir Mountain Adventures’ first climbing and yoga trip to Todra Gorge and I’m really glad that I did! Excluding travel days, we had 7 full days in the Gorge. My only complaint is that I would have liked to stay longer! The Gorge has a lot more to offer, so I will be back next year 🙂
I met the first part of the group at the airport in Amsterdam since we happened to be on the same flight. In Marrakesh, Miriam was waiting for us at the airport and everything was taken care of from there: transit from airport to the over night stay in Marrakesh, accommodation, transit to/from the Gorge and climbing guides.
If Miriam hadn’t told us, I wouldn’t have known from this experience that it was the very first trip, everything went super smooth! I think this shows how much care and preparation Miriam put into this trip and I’m sure the next one will be even better.
After arriving at the Gorge, we spent most days climbing. I took a single rest day part way through the week (in fact, everyone did and we took a nice walk through the gardens), but is is definitely possible to climb every day if you want (there are many routes that are not that physical).
Accommodation: The guest house was pretty basic but the bed was good and I slept very well. They cooked for us every day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and I loved it and they can cater to dietary wishes/requirements.
Group / climbing experience: The group was small and consisted of beginners and intermediate climbers. I think this area is particularly well suited for this kind of group as there is a wealth of routes available in the lower grades, they are well bolted and not at all polished (quite sharp, even). Also if you have no outdoor experience, I think this would be a great first one because the guides can set up top ropes and you won’t have to lead climb anything if you don’t want to.
Some final recommendations:
– Do a walk through the gardens by the river on a rest day, it’s beautiful!
– You may get the opportunity to hire Kamal for a day to go on a multi pitch adventure. Do it, it is my most memorable experience from the trip, it was amazing!
– Bring a warm jacket, it gets cold at night!
